Tracey Olivieri
Tracey was born in Brisbane and has lived most of her life in the area near the prison, attending the Dutton Park school. She has two sons, and apart from her work as president of the BRGHS she is a scout leader at Tarragindi, volunteer firefighter, Moonlight Tours guide, secretary of the Friends of South Brisbane
Cemetery (FOSBC), and secretary of the Greater Brisbane Cemetery
Alliance. She is also employed as an Historic Cemeteries Project Officer with the Ipswich City Council. She co-founded the FOSBC in 2006. Since then the FOSBC have done a wonderful job at the cemetery, and the renewed interest in the site from the public (and the Brisbane City Council) can be attributed solely to their efforts. Tracey has become a leading authority on the cemetery's history, and has written a number of books on the subject. |
